Biomedical Engineering Society student chapters must have a faculty advisor who is a BMES member, and 10 or more students who are Student members of the national Society.

Renewal
Student chapters are required to renew their charter annually, by providing: the name of their faculty advisor(s), a list of chapter officers, a list of student members of the national Biomedical Engineering Society (minimum of 10), and a permanent mailing address. Please mail or fax the completed Chapter Charter Renewal Form (pdf). The deadline for renewal is April of each year.

Complimentary Subscriptions
Student chapters in good standing receive a complimentary subscription to the BMES monthly journal, the Annals of Biomedical Engineering. All Student members receive the quarterly BMES Bulletin as part of their dues. The Bulletin includes a "Student Chapter News" column and chapters are invited to submit photos of their activities and articles on issues of concern to students.

Student Affairs Committee
Faculty and students are invited to serve on the BMES Student Affairs Committee. Contact the Society office for information on committee service.

Chapter Application
Please mail the Student Chapter Application Form (pdf) with the following information to the home office.

3. Permanent Mailing Address (Mail must be addressed to faculty advisor)
4. E-mail Address
5. Student Chapter Officers
6. Current BMES Student Members (10 minimum; use additional pages if necessary)
